1.

Start with a black pen, and add a curved line in the center of the page, with a triangle-shaped ear at either end.

Bring a curved line down on either side…

And add an oval shape in the center of these lines, filling this in with the black pen. Add a curved line to the bottom, and add two dots to the top for the eyes.

Bring two curved lines down on either side.
5.

Add “loops” to the bottom of the lines for the arms.
6.

And then add two marks to each for the paws.

Add a smaller set of ears to the center of the body…

And bring down two curved lines on the side of each.

Next, add two dots for eyes, and an oval shape for the nose underneath this.

Add two curved, pointed shapes to the sides…

Bring two curved lines down from the bottom, and join these at the bottom with another curve to create the pouch.

Next, bring two lines down from the bottom of the paw, and take these out and down.
13.

Take the lines out on both sides, and then loop them back around and in to meet in the center, creating the feet.
14.

Add two small marks to the bottom of the feet on both sides for toes…
15.

Complete the pouch with the black pen.
16.

Add colors to the ears of both animals with a brown pen.
17.

Use an orange pencil to add curved lines to the sides of the pouch, from the bottom of the paws to the feet…
18.

And shade the areas outside of this with the orange pencil. Use the same shade for the face and paws of the joey.
19.

Use the orange pencil to add a pointed line from the paws reaching up to the top of the joeys head…
20.

And use the orange pencil to shade the space around this, leaving the tummy and pouch white.
And there we have it – a gorgeous mama kangaroo and her joey, just waiting to chill, hang out and enjoy life – what could be better than that?
