Snakes don’t have to be scary – but if you see one with fangs, it is understandable to be a little freaked out! Ready to face your fear and create your own super cool snake? Then let’s get started!

Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black fineliner pen, and draw a curved line across your page. Add a bump to the end of this, and then take the line down and across towards the right, add another “bump”, and then angle the line down and across towards the bottom left-hand corner.
2.

Add another “bump” to the left end of the original line, and then take a line across to the left, curving downwards.
3.

Now, add a large “C” shape to the bottom of this line, reaching across the bottom of your drawing…
4.

And bring a line down from the section on the right to almost touch this, leaving a small gap.
5.

Add a curved, pointed shape inside the gap – this will be the tail of your snake.
6.

Now, add two square shapes, with the bottoms black, just below the original line you drew – this is the head of the snake. Connect these shapes together in the center, curving them out slightly at the top, and then add a curved line across the center line.
7.

Add a wide shape to the right of this – this should be almost like a wide “n” with a slightly pointed top.
8.

Bring the bottom of this in, then across to a point and down, following the outside of the face on the right.
9.

Add another pointed “n” shape to the left…
10.

And bring a line down, making sure this one is slightly further in than the one on the right.
11.

Connect the two shapes together at the bottom with a wavy line, and add two sharp points to the bottom.
12.

Add two wavy lines inside this shape…
13.

And then add a triangle to the top of each wavy line, with a curve at the top. These are the eyes of your snake.
14.

Add a series of short, sharp lines to the bottom of the section around the eyes…
15.

And then two small black nostrils between these lines and the bottom of the eyes.
16.

Now, bring down two pointed fangs from the bottom of this section.
17.

Add a curved, wavy fork below this for a tongue…
18.

And then add sharp shapes to the bottom of the right fang.
19.

Follow this with sharp shapes around the left fang, and another fork emerging from the tongue.
20.

Add a line to the left edge of the face, and then bring a curved line down at the bottom of this.
21.

Bring this line up and in, and then out in a more rectangular shape, and a loop at the top.
22.

Add a curved shape to the right of this…
23.

And then another curved shape at the bottom of the one you just drew…
24.

And follow this with another shape below.
25.

Follow this with two more shapes…
26.

And continue these to the bottom of the main shape.
27.

Begin to curve these shapes towards the left…
28.

And add a long, thin shape to the right.
29.

Add a long thin curve to the tail.
30.

Now, add an arrow shape to the top of the left section.
31.

Bring this down to follow the curve of the body, and add a point to the bottom before bringing the curve across to the right and up.
32.

Connect this to the lone on the left with another pointy line…
33.

And then use a black pen for the outside space.
34.

Use a yellow pen for the eyes…
35.

And a red pen for the tongue.
36.

Now, grab a brown pencil and use this for the main body of the snake.
And there we have it – a not-so-scary snake, baring his fangs for all to see!
