1.

Start with a thin black pen and draw a small bump at the top of your page, and add curved shapes to the bottom.
2.

From the bottom right, bring a curved line across to the left, and then loop this back round.
3.

Extend this line slightly, and then bring the line back across to the left, up and across, forming the outline.
4.

Add another line just above the bottom one…
5.

And then add two vertical, parallel lines to the bottom of the body.
6.

Add a “backward C” shape to the right of these lines…
7.

And then bring another line across below this.
8.

Continue another set of lines to the left and then curve across to the right…
9.

And extend the vertical lines down a little further.
10.

Add a small curve to the right side…
11.

And then bring the bottom of the tail around the bottom of this section.
12.

Close the vertical lines with a point at the bottom.
13.

Now, add two points to the top of this, with a curve in the center connecting these together.
14.

Connect the ends with a curve at the bottom, and add another curved section to the bottom.
15.

Bring two curved lines down from the bottom of this…
16.

And add a series of stripes to the length of this.
17.

Add a jagged line to the bottom…
18.

And follow this with another line below, connecting the two at the ends with a point.
19.

Add a small diamond shape in the center of this shape.
20.

Now, repeat the outer lines of this section just inside…
21.

Add a jagged line to the center of this…
22.

And then add a pointed shape to the bottom, forming the hilt of the sword.
23.

Connect the hilt to the top of the sword…
24.

And add small dots to the diamond in the center.
25.

Now, add a series of lines across the bottom sections of the snake – this will be its belly.
26.

Add a line down the center of the sword…
27.

And then add a series of small marks all around the outside.
28.

Now, give your snake a forked tongue…
29.

And use an orange pen for the outside of the hilt, the stripes, and the handle.
30.

Use a green pen for the rest of the handle and the hilt…
31.

And then use a brown pen for the top section of your snake.
32.

Use a brown pencil for the belly…
33.

And then use a gray pencil for the sword itself.
And there we have it – a stunning motif, emblem, or design for you to enjoy – this is a design that could fit a whole range of situations!
