Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a thick black pen and a ruler, and draw an angled line in the top left-hand corner of your page.
2.

Use a black fineliner and ruler to draw a horizontal line across the left end. Use the thicker pen to bring a line down from this, and thicken the end. Then, use the fineliner to add an angled line to the bottom.
3.

Use the fineliner to draw an angled line, and then bring a line down towards the bottom of the page from the corner.
4.

Continue the line across, down, and then loop it to the left.
5.

Add two curved, parallel lines to the end, and connect these at the top with a straight line.
6.

Now, use the ruler to add two parallel lines to the left of this, connecting these to the line on the left side.
7.

Add two more lines above these, joining them at the right end to create two “stripes”.
8.

Bring the bottom left line across to close the central shape, and take it to the right, and then up just behind the nose. Add two curved, vertical lines to the central shape at the bottom.
9.

Bring a line across to the right from the nose, and take this down towards the bottom of the page.
10.

Now, take a line across to the left, and add two parallel lines above this.
11.

Bring a line across at the bottom, reaching right to the other end…
12.

And then add a curved shape to the nose, separated by a line in the center.
13.

Bring two parallel, angled lines up from the edge of this curve, and then take this towards the left.
14.

Extend the lines across the curved front…
15.

And then add two curved shapes above each half.
16.

Use a black fineliner to add a small, vertical rectangle in the center of these, and then add short vertical lines to the sides.
17.

Add a curved line just behind the front section, and then another curved, rectangular window behind this.
18.

Bring a line up from the top left corner of the front curve, towards the line at the top of the train…
19.

And use the ruler to add an angled square shape to the center of this new front section.
20.

Now, add a bumpy line to the bottom of this, with a “flame” shape on the left. Connect this shape to the bumpy line with three curved lines.
21.

Add a curved line to the section just above the rectangle on the bottom…
22.

And use the ruler to add a tall rectangle to the back of the line in the center.
23.

Add a series of straight, vertical lines inside this shape…
24.

And then add more rectangular windows behind, with two horizontal, parallel lines at the top of each.
25.

Add more small, square rectangles to the top…
26.

Add small, diagonal lines to these top windows…
27.

And then use a black pen to shade the main sections of the main windows, the central section, and the front at the bottom.
28.

Use a blue pen for the sections above and around the front section, the curved shapes, and the lines at the bottom.
29.

Use a dark blue pen for the windshield…
30.

And then a red pen for the bottom half of the train.
31.

Now, use a yellow pen for the stripe at the bottom…
32.

And a bright blue pen for the top of the train.
And there we have it – your very own colorful train, waiting to take you to your dream destination – but just might where that be?
