We all know the soothing shade that comes from a leafy tree – but there is also beauty in a bare, winter tree. Want more proof? Read on to learn how to draw your very own.
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Start with a black pen, and draw two wavy, angled lines in the center of your page. Join these in a point at the top.
Now, draw a series of branches emerging from this, with gently curved lines topped with sharp forks.
Add another curved line heading up from the bottom right of the original line, and add forked twigs and branches to the top of this.
Add another branch to the right…
And then take this out across even further with another set of sharp, angled lines.
Bring a line back in at the bottom to create another large branch…
And then bring a third main branch out to the right, waving this slightly as you add twigs and branches.
Repeat this below, with a few more sharp twigs and branches…
And then bring a wavy line straight down towards the bottom of your page.
Now, add a tall, curved branch to the left of your tree, and add a few sharp twigs.
Add another waving set of branches and twigs to the left…
And then bring another branch across to the left.
At the bottom, bring another line straight down, and add a slight point to the bottom.
Now, add a wide square section to the bottom, and then add another curved, pointed shape to the right to complete the outline of your tree.
Grab a black pen, and fill in the main trunk and the bottom of the main branches, as well as the bulk of the roots and bottom.
Extend the black out a little higher, reaching right up into the branches…
And then fill in the rest of the tree with a black fineliner pen to complete the look.
Voila – a stunning, leaf-free tree to enjoy. Doesn’t it have its unique kind of beauty?
