Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a pencil and a ruler, and draw a vertical line in the center of your page.
2.

Add two horizontal lines to the middle of this, and connect these at the end with a straight line.
3.

Now, add a rectangle shape to the top of these lines…
4.

And bring up two vertical lines in the center of this, on either side of the center line. Angle lines up at the top to meet in a point and create the outline of a house shape.
5.

Add another set of lines to the top of the roof, and connect these at the bottom.
6.

Extend the length of the horizontal line slightly, and then bring two lines up, angling these inward. Connect these at the top with a horizontal line.
7.

Add a small square to each outside section for windows…
8.

And then add a cross to each of these.
9.

Use a ruler to add horizontal lines all across the main body of the house.
10.

Add a small triangle just below the top of the roof, and a rectangle below this for the door.
11.

Add two smaller rectangles inside this door, and add a small mark for the handle.
12.

Use an eraser to remove small sections on either side of the central line at the bottom…
13.

And bring down two vertical lines on the left.
14.

Now, bring down two curved lines from the bottom. Take the right line down, across to a point, and back in to meet the center line. Take the left line down, across to the left, and then add another line below this, bringing this in, across to the left at a point, and then back in – this is the tree trunk that your house sits in!
15.

Add a large oval shape with pointed ends to the bottom of this trunk…
16.

Add two sets of diagonal lines to the top of the trunk, joining this to the bottom of the house.
17.

Now, divide the branch on the left into two forked sections…
18.

And add a bumpy shape to the end of this for the leaves of the tree.
19.

Add a curved line to the branch, and bring this down towards the bottom of the page.
20.

Add a ring to the bottom of this for a tire swing…
21.

Add a series of long, thin rectangles to the ladder on the right…
22.

And then add fluffy cloud shapes behind the treehouse.
23.

Add more cloud shapes to the top, behind the treehouse.
24.

Connect these cloud shapes to the main tree with curved lines.
25.

Use a black pen to go over the details of your treehouse.
26.

Use an eraser to remove any remaining pencil marks…
27.

And then use an orange pen for the main body of the treehouse.
28.

Grab a brown pen, and shade the trunk of the tree, the ladder, the roof, and the doors and windows.
29.

Use a gray pencil for the tire swing…
30.

And shade the trees and grass with a bright green pencil.
And voila – your very own adorable treehouse, just waiting for adventure and mystery; the rest is truly up to your imagination!
