Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black fineliner pen, and draw a curved “flame” shape in the left of your page to create the first ear of your unicorn. Add a curved line to the bottom left of this.
2.

Add a large “U” shape to the top of the ear.
3.

Bring a slightly bumpy line up from the curve to the top left-hand corner of the page.
4.

Add small marks to the bottom of each of the “bumps”…
5.

And then close the shapes at the bottom to create the horn.
6.

Bring a line down from the bottom of the horn, and take this down in a curve, and then curve it to the right, and back up to create the nose and jaw of the unicorn. Add a small curved shape to the bottom of the nose for the nostril.
7.

Now, add a curve to the back of the horn, and bring this down, across to the right, and then down in a wavy line.
8.

Curve this line across to the left, then up and across to form the back leg. Add a small hoof to the bottom of this.
9.

Add a thicker curved line to the face for an eye, with lashes underneath this.
10.

Add wavy lines from the horn to the ear, and then the front of the horn to the top of the head.
11.

Now, add small “loops” to the back of the ears, all down the back of the neck, to create the mane.
12.

Bring a curved line down from the bottom of the jaw…
13.

And then add a “backward 7” shape to the bottom of the curved line, creating a front leg.
14.

Bring two lines across to the right for the bottom of the leg, and add a hood to the end.
15.

Add two parallel, diagonal lines to the bottom of this leg, pointing towards the bottom left-hand corner of the page, and add a hoof to the bottom.
16.

Bring a curved line across for the belly…
17.

And then add another angled hoof to the back.
18.

Add a large, curved line to the back, and take this down to a spiral.
19.

Add another layer to the spiral…
20.

And then continue to add to this to create the tail.
21.

Continue to add spiral shapes to the tail…
22.

And then add curved shapes to the front, ending in a spiral at the bottom.
23.

Grab a gray pencil, and add star shapes all around the outside of the unicorn.
24.

Use a purple pen to shade the hooves, a stripe of the mane and tail, and a heart on the top of the haunches, as well as the horn.
25.

Use a pink pencil to shade the body, making the edges darker than the middle.
26.

Use a pink pen to add a small heart shape to the bottom of the purple one.
27.

Use a red pen to add another heart to the left, as well as a small heart on the cheek. Then add two red stripes to the top and bottom of the mane, and to the left of the purple stripe on the tail.
28.

Grab an orange pen, and use this for another stripe on the left side, and another section of the mane.
29.

Follow this with a stripe with a yellow pen…
30.

And another stripe with a green pen beside this on the mane and tail.
31.

Grab a light blue pen, and use this to complete the mane and tail.
32.

Use a dark blue pen and a brown pen to shade the remaining mane on top of the head.
33.

Now, use a pink pen for the inside of the ears, and shade the outside of the ears with the pink pen.
34.

Use a black fineliner pen to go over the outline of the larger stars…
35.

And add shapes to the back of these, making them 3D.
36.

Use an eraser to remove any pencil marks…
37.

And then use a yellow pen for two of the stars.
38.

Use a blue pen for the back of the stars, and add smaller stars all around in the same blue shade.
39.

Use a green pen to shade two more stars…
40.

And then use a pink pen to add color to the remaining large stars, as well as creating smaller stars.
And there we have it – your very own gorgeous, mysterious unicorn, just waiting for an adventure – but where will her curiosity take her?
