Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a pencil and a drawing compass, and draw a series of curved lines, placed close together, towards the bottom of your page.
2.

Take a black pen, and draw two cloud shapes – one at either end of the rainbow you have just created.
3.

Take an eraser, and remove any pencil marks in the clouds.
4.

Go over the lines of the rainbow with a black pen.
5.

Use the black fineliner to draw a small eye shape in the top left of your page.
6.

Add a few marks to the right of this for long lashes…
7.

And then bring down a curved line to the left of this, taking it across to the bottom left corner, and then across to the right in a “hook”. Add a small dot inside this for the nose.
8.

Add a mark to the top of the “hook” for the smile, and then bring a line across in a bump.
9.

Now, add a thin, curved line to the top, and flick this up at the end.
10.

Add two curved triangles for ears…
11.

And then bring another strand of mane down past the ear.
12.

Add another strand above this – this time, flick the strand across to the right.
13.

Add more sections of mane to the bottom…
14.

And continue to add more strands below this for a thick, luscious mane.
15.

Now, add a horn to the forehead, pointing towards the top left-hand corner of the page. Add a series of diagonal lines across this for stripes.
16.

Continue to make the mane thicker…
17.

And then bring a curved line down from the bottom of the jaw, towards the bottom right-hand corner of the page. Then, add two parallel lines, heading to the left, and join these at the end to create the front leg.
18.

Add another leg just above this top one…
19.

And then add lines just above the ends for hooves.
20.

Bring a curved lone across for the belly, and then add a wavy line to the end of this.
21.

Bring a line up at an angle, and then back across to create the back leg…
22.

And add another back leg just below this.
23.

Now, add hooves to the end of each leg…
24.

And bring a curved line up and across to the left.
25.

Now, use two curved lines to create a large, majestic tail streaming out to the right…
26.

And follow this with lots of other shapes to create a thick, full tail.
27.

Next, add a series of small stars all around the body of your unicorn.
28.

Grab a yellow pen, and use this to fill in the hooves, the horn, the stars, the third stripe of the rainbow, and a section of the mane and tail.
29.

Use an orange pen for the rainbow stripe above this, and use the same shade for a stripe on the horn and the tail.
30.

Add a red pen to the top stripe of the rainbow, and repeat this on the mane and tail…
31.

And then use a green pen for the fourth stripe, and a stripe on the mane, tail, and horn.
32.

Follow this with a blue pen on the mane, tail, and horn, as well as the next stripe of the rainbow…
33.

And complete both sections with a deep purple pen!
34.

Use a pink pen to fill in the unicorn’s ear.
35.

And then use a gray pen for the bottom of each of the clouds.
And there we have it – a unicorn doing what they do so well, and chasing heavenly rainbows!
