Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Grab a black pen, and draw a small circle at the top of your page.
2.

Add a wavy, angled line to the top of this…
3.

And then add another line above this, connecting them at the ends with a curve. This is the trim of the hat.
4.

Connect the top section to the circle with curved lines on either side and then add a small, curved mark to the bottom.
5.

Now, bring a “point” across to the left, curve this downwards to another “point”, and then flick the line out to the bottom left-hand corner.
6.

From here, bring a curved line up towards the top right-hand corner of the page, add another “point”, and then connect this to the right side of the curved strip. Do you see how the gnome’s beard is taking shape?
7.

Add two small shapes below the beard for feet…
8.

And then add another, long, thin section below these.
9.

Now, add a hand to the left of the figure, with three long, thin sections for fingers, and a thumb sticking out to the right.
10.

Add another hand emerging from the right…
11.

Bring a line up from the left-hand side of the trim, and wave this up and across to the right.
12.

Add a small circle to the end of this, with three tiny circles inside for the bell of the hat.
13.

Connect the bell to the trim with another curved line…
14.

And then add a line to the right-hand of your gnome.
15.

At the end of this, add a heart shape…
16.

Before using a black fineliner to add circles to the hat.
17.

Now, add a large heart shape to the right of the gnome…
18.

And use a light pink to shade the hands, the nose, and the face.
19.

Now, use a yellow pen for the bottoms of the shoes and the bell on the hat.
20.

Use a gray pen for the top of the shoes.
21.

Now, grab a red pen to fill in the hat and both heart shapes.
And there we have it – the ideal gnome to give your sweetheart and make their Valentines!
