Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start by using a black pen and a ruler to draw a large rectangle in the center of your page.
2.

Grab a black fineliner, and draw a small circle in the left side of the rectangle, and then add smaller circles inside this.
3.

Add a large “U” shape all around this circle…
4.

And then add a curved line to the top of this.
5.

Add a curved line to the bottom right of the “U” shape, and add a large, wavy line to the end of this.
6.

Add a curved line to the right of the top curve, taking this across and up towards the top right-hand corner of the rectangle, ending this with a fork at the end.
7.

Add another curve to the left of this, and then a curve to the right of this. Add a slightly pointed line curving across to the right.
8.

Continue this line across to the right, breaking the main line into small sections as you go, and then take it towards the bottom of the page.
9.

Take a wavy line across to the left, and then add a short, curved line to the center of this.
10.

Now, add two sharp, curved points to the bottom of each section to create claws.
11.

Bring a curved line down from the front of the creature, and take this across to the right, before curving it upwards.
12.

Next, add a wavy line to the right of this, and add two curved sections, one slightly lower than the other, to the end of this line.
13.

Repeat this with a wide “W” shape to the right, and then bring a wavy line up towards the top of the back.
14.

Add two pointed claws to each side…
15.

And then repeat the shape of this leg just behind the front one.
16.

Add two more claws to each side, just as before…
17.

And then add the fourth and final leg behind this.
18.

Once again, add a set of claws to each side.
19.

Now, bring a wavy like up from the back of the front leg, and connect the left of this to the bottom of the face with a jagged line.
20.

Add four more claws to the bottom of this.
21.

Next, add another leg to the front, just below the chin.
22.

Add four razor-sharp claws to the bottom of this.
23.

Add more curved and jagged lines to the legs for texture.
24.

Now, bring a wavy line down from the bottom of each corner of the water bear, to the bottom corners of the rectangle.
25.

Grab a brown pen to shade the nose of your creature…
26.

And then a darker brown pen for the rest of the body.
27.

Use a yellow pen for the razor claws…
28.

And then a green pen for the bottom section.
29.

Now, use a blue pen to shade the space at the top of the rectangle.
And voila – you have your very own super cure water bear to learn about! Why not do a little extra research of your own – there is plenty to discover about these truly fascinating animals!
