Of all the sharks that dominate the water, the whale shark is one of the lesser known – but that does not mean that they are not worthy of study! To help, we have put together everything you need to know to bring your own whale shark to life – let’s get started!

Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a cyan pen, and add a curved line to the center of your page. Take this to a point on the right, and bring another curved line down.
2.

At the left end of the line, bring a curved line down, stopping just above the bottom of the right line, and then add a small triangle to the right of the top line.
3.

Add a loop shape to the gap at the bottom.
4.

Add another shape inside this first one.
5.

Add small circles to the main body of the shape.
6.

Shade the fins with the cyan pen, and add a curved line to the top left.
7.

Add a curved, pointed fin to the top and shade this with the cyan pen.
8.

Fill in the main body of the whale shark with the cyan pen, leaving a gap at the top.
9.

Add another curved fin to the top and bottom at the back…
10.

Add a curved tail to the back…
11.

And shade this with the cyan pen.
12.

Add a curved line to the front with a sky blue pen, and bring this curve around the bottom.
13.

Use the sky blue pen to shade the top section…
14.

And then add another fin to the bottom with the cyan pen.
15.

Grab a black pen, and shade the oval of the front of the face.
16.

Add a small black dot to the space in front of the main fin to draw an eye.
