Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black pen, and draw a wavy line across your page. Flick this upwards slightly at the right end.
2.

Now, loop the left end down and around towards the right, adding an “arrow” shape to the end.
3.

Bring another loop down at the bottom of this, and take a curved line across to the right of the page – do you see the face and mouth of your fish emerging?
4.

Add a curved line just above the bottom one, and bring the end of this up towards the top of the page.
5.

Add a short, curved line to the right of this, and then add a large “horseshoe” shape to the end for the front fin.
6.

Add another fin to the left of this…
7.

And then continue the line up on the right, angling up towards the top right-hand corner of the page.
8.

Now, add a large “D” shaped tail to the end of this.
9.

Add another “n” shaped fin to the top, just in front of the tail…
10.

And then bring another curved line across the top, from the end of the tail to the front of the head.
11.

Add a large circle to the face…
12.

And fill this with a smaller circle followed by an almond shape in the center. Add a tiny circle to this top section, and fill in the surrounding space with a black pen.
13.

Now, add a series of curved lines inside each of the front fins.
14.

Follow this with another set of fins behind the front ones, and another single one at the bottom – in line with the one above it.
15.

Add the same lines to each of these fins, as well as the tail.
16.

Now, add sharp, pointed teeth to the top and bottom line of the mouth.
17.

Now, add a series of small circles all around the bottom of the fins and the tail – leave the middle set for the moment.
18.

Add several small “3” shapes all across the body…
19.

And then add a curved line running just above the bottom of the body.
20.

Next, grab a blue pen, and use this to shade the iris of the eye.
21.

Grab a gray pen, and shade the bottom section of the fish, including the tail at the back.
22.

Then, use a darker gray pencil to shade the rest of the body.
And there we have it – fearsome teeth aside, we think he is actually pretty cute, and these are fascinating creatures. Why not do a little more research to learn more about all that they have to offer?
