When it comes to celebrating the festive period, there are a number of non-negotiables that simply have to be included: and elves are very much a part of this list! Ready to create your own adorable Christmas elf? Then let’s get started!
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Grab a green pen and a ruler, and draw a line in the center of your page.
Curve the ends of the line up, and then add a short vertical line to either end.
Add a jagged line across the top to create a crown shape…
And then use a darker green pen to add a line to that bottom right, and another just beside this.
Grab the green pen you started with, and shade the rest of the shape.
Use a red pen and a ruler to add an angled line to the left of this, take this up, and then curve it across to the right.
Use a yellow pen to add an oval shape to the end of the brown line, and then add a smaller circle inside this.
Use an orange pen to draw a small “kidney” shape to the bottom of the yellow circle, and then add an orange circle to the right of this.
Shade the rest of the circle with the yellow pen…
And then connect this to the crown shape with a line made with a red pen.
Fill in this shape with the red pen, leaving a small rectangle at the top.
Use an orange pencil to draw two lines emerging from the bottom of the crown, and connect these with a curved line at the bottom.
Add a curved, triangle shape to the sides of this square, creating the face and ears…
And then fill this in with the orange pencil.
Add a rounded shape to the bottom, creating the neck…
And then shade the rectangle at the top of the hat with a pink pen.
Use a dark brown pen to add two smaller triangles to the inside of the ears…
And then use the same shade for curved eyes on the face, a small shape below this for the nose, and then two small circles at the bottom.
Use a black pen to add a half-circle shape at the bottom of the face, and shade the top half of this.
Shade the bottom of this shape with a pink pen for the bottom of the mouth.
Use a red pen to draw a curved line at the bottom of the neck, and then bring a line out on either side.
Add a pointed arrow shape below this…
And bring a line up on either side of this.
Connect these shapes to the line at the top with more points, creating a pointed collar.
Fill in this collar with the red pen…
Use a green pen to bring curved lines down on either side of this…
Grab a yellow pen and a ruler, draw a small rectangle in the center of the green lines, and add a line to the left.
Use a black pen to add a curved shape around this square, creating the belt for the buckle, and then shade the space inside the buckle.
Use the green pen to shade the main body…
And then add two points below the belt, connected by a curve in the center.
Shade this section with the green pen.
Now, use the green pen and a ruler to bring up two diagonal, parallel lines from the right side, connecting these at the end with a curved line.
Fill this in with a dark green pen for one arm…
And then add another arm to the left.
Use a brown pen to add color to the dips in the ends of the arms.
Use the orange pencil to add a hand to the end of each arm, with a large hand and a small thumb on each side.
Add two long, thin rectangles to the bottom of the outfit for legs.
Use the dark green pen to add a curved shape to the bottom of each leg.
Now, add a “u” shape to the side of each of these with the lighter green pen…
Take this to a point, and then curve the line down, across, and up to create those classic elf shoes.
Use the light green pen to shade the shoes…
And then use a red pen to add striped socks to the legs.
And there we have it – a super cute Christmas elf, ready for the festive season. Anyone else for eggnog?
