Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black pen, and draw a pointed shape in the top left of your page. Bring the bottom of this down towards the bottom of the page. This will be the beak of your penguin.
2.

Add a curved line to the right of the beak, and then take this down towards the bottom right-hand corner of the page.
3.

Take the line across slightly, and then back up in a curved line.
4.

Add another large “loop” shape inside this line…
5.

And then return to the line on the top left, taking this across to the right. Add another line just above this.
6.

Draw a small circle in this top section, and add a small black dot inside this for the eye…
7.

And then add another “teardrop” shape inside the beak.
8.

Bring a line down from the bottom of the face towards the bottom of the page.
9.

Take this to a point, and then across to the right and down, before taking it back across to the left. Add three “points”, and connect these to the bottom of the body. Add pointed claws to the ends of the “points” to create a foot.
10.

Add another foot to the right of this, and connect the two with a wavy line.
11.

Connect the right foot to the wing above with a curved line…
12.

And then add a “point” to the bottom right, and bring a line up to the bottom of the wing.
13.

Add another wing to the left of the body, with a line just inside the left of this.
14.

Shade the outside section with a black pen.
15.

Use a yellow pencil to shade the top of the chest…
16.

Now, use a black pen for the feet, the outside of the wings, and the body and head.
17.

Use a gray pencil to add an oval to the bottom of the penguin’s feet, and shade this with the gray pen.
18.

Color the remaining section on the head with your yellow pencil.
19.

Shade this top section of the head and the beak with an orange pen.
20.

Use the gray pencil for the body and the wings.
And voila – your very own Emperor penguin is ready and waiting to teach you – and there is plenty to learn about these wonderful creatures!
