Summer is never really complete until you have enjoyed your first taste of delicious ice cream – the ideal pick-me-up on a hot day! Get into the holiday mood by learning to draw an ice cream tower, and relax in cool, creamy bliss!
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Start by taking a brown pen, and create a wide “U” shape at the bottom of the page.
Now, add a “V” with a curved bottom to the bottom of the “U”, to create the cone of your ice cream. Then add a curved line to the top of the “U”, leaving a slight gap in the line towards the right hand side.
Add a curved line just above the line you just drew – this should be wavy, to create the top of your cone.
Add a series of “U” shapes all across this top section for a little detail…
And then add a slight diagonal line which goes from the middle of the left hand side to the left hand stem of the furthest “U” you have just created.
Add a series of diagonal lines heading in both directions, to create a “criss-cross” effect on the body of the cone.
Now bring another diagonal line down, roughly cutting the cone in half.
Take an orange pencil, and use this to shade in the cone.
Next, grab a yellow pen, and add a series of bumpy lines emerging from the top of the cone – there should be a line at either end, and on the right hand side, the lines should create a “reverse L” shape using a bumpy line.
Now use a brown pen, and add another series of bumpy lines above the yellow ones, to create your second layer of ice cream. This should have a wavy bottom line, which moves up into two vertical bumpy lines, one on either end.
Now use a pink pen to repeat this shape above the brown section.
Return to the yellow pen, and add another section above the pink…
Before using a gray pencil to add a soft, curved shape at the very top.
Use a red pen to add a small cherry on the top. Fill this in almost completely, leaving a thin white sliver, shaped like a comma, in the middle.
Use the pink pen to fill in this sliver in the middle…
And take a green pen to add a stalk to your cherry.
Use a tissue to smudge the color of the cream at the top, leaving you with a smooth surface.
Now use the red pen to make a series of small marks all over the top section – every ice cream needs sprinkles!
Repeat this using a green pen…
And then using a pink pen.
Grab a yellow pen, and fill in the “reverse L” shape at the bottom of your ice cream.
Then use a yellow pencil to fill in the section at the top.
Use the yellow pencil to add color to the bottom of the ice cream…
And then shade in the second section with a pink pencil.
Finally, use the brown pencil to complete the final section.
Ah – bliss! Looks like the perfect addition to any summer day; now why not try recreating the look using your favorite flavor?
