Picture the scene: you are on a desert island, surrounded by sun, sea and the smell of the trees… sounds like bliss, right? Well, let’s make this dream a reality in just a few short, simple steps.

Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.
Begin with a black pen, and draw a curved line in the center of your page.
2.
At the end of the line, bring a line across to the right, and cut “wedges” out of this as you go.

Repeat this with an identical shape to the left…

And then add another shape in the center of these two – this time, stand the curved shape upright.
5.
Add a fourth shape to the right of the first, and bring the end of this down slightly.

Repeat this on the bottom left…

And then add another set of leaves to the bottom.

Now bring two curved lines down from the bottom of the tree, and join these at the bottom with a curved line.

And then add a smaller shape to the bottom of the right-hand leaf.

Now, add a second, slightly longer, shape to the bottom of this…

And a third emerging off to the left.

Then, add a fourth set of leaves to the top…

And another to the bottom left-hand corner.

Repeat this on the other side…

And then add two more curved lines to create another trunk.

Add curved lines all down the length of this.

Now, add a wavy circle to the bottom of the two trunks…

And then a larger “puddle” around this.

Add a long, thin layer to the bottom…

And then a series of small dots to create a sandy beach.

Grab a green pen, and use this to fill in the top layer of leaves on the smaller tree, as well as the top layers on the taller tree.

Use a light green pen for the rest of the leaves…

And then a brown for the trunks and bottom sections.
25.
Grab a brown pencil for the sand at the bottom…
26.
And a light blue pencil for the ocean strip at the bottom.
And voila – all you have to do is kick back, relax, and imagine the sound of the waves washing over you…
