Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Grab a black pen, and add a small circle to the right of your page. Add a curved bubble arrow below this, pointing downwards.
2.

Add an oval shape below this, and then add a series of small lines to the outside of the lines.
3.

Add another arrow to the left of this.
4.

Now add five tall, thin “fingers” to the left of the arrow, and bring a line down on either side of this. Bring the line in, and then down to form a loop at the bottom.
5.

Add more “fingers” to the top of this…
6.

And then add a wavy shape to the bottom.
7.

Draw another curved arrow to the left of this.
8.

Add another shape with “fingers” at the top.
9.

Add another set of “fingers” to the top of this…
10.

And then a third layer to the top of this.
11.

Add another layer above this…
12.

And draw yet another layer.
13.

Draw the final layer to the top of this.
14.

Add another arrow to the top of the layers…
15.

And then a curved line, with a wavy line to the right.
16.

Add another shape inside this outline.
17.

Bring two loops across to the side of this.
18.

And then add arrows to the top of this, heading right.
19.

Now, add a curved shape beside this, with long “fingers” at the bottom, bringing some of these further down than others.
20.

Draw another lines emerging from the jellyfish.
21.

Add an outline to the edge of this shape for the body of the jellyfish.
22.

Join this to the shape to the side with an arrow.
23.

Grab a blue pen, and shade the first two shapes, the main body of the bottom shape, and the top three layers of the fourth shape, as well as the insides of the final two shapes.
24.

Use a dark blue pen for the bottom section of the fourth shape, and the fingers on the third shape.
25.

Use a light blue pen to shade the outside of the final two shapes.
26.

Draw a wavy shape to the bottom of the layers with the black pen.
27.

And then use a brown pen to shade the long shapes on the bottom sections.
28.

Use a red pen to add color to the arrows…
29.

Add the labels to the respective sections – from the top heading down this should be: “ADULT JELLYFISH”, “EGG”, “PLANULA LARVA”, “POLYP”, “STROBILA” and “EPHYRA”.
And there we have it – all that you need to know about the life cycle of these truly curious creatures – but there is plenty more to learn, and this is just the tip of the iceberg!
