The product cycle is an important element of our everyday lives – and we have put together the complete diagram to help you have a better understanding of this crucial set of processes. Let’s get started!
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Grab a ruler and pencil, and add a large “L” shape to the left bottom corner of your page. Add an arrow to the ends of the lines.
Bring a vertical line up on the right side, and then add a wavy line connecting this to the other vertical line.
Bring a horizontal line across at the top, and then add a series of vertical lines across your graph.
Add another horizontal line just below that at the top, and then add two shorter horizontal lines at the bottom.
Draw two vertical lines at the side…
And then two long, horizontal lines across the middle of the chart.
Now, add the labels with a black pen. The title, in the top set of lines, should be “PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE”, and the labels below this should read “Question Mark”, “Star”, “Cash Cow” and “Dog”. Below this, in the central lines, are more labels – “Development & Intro”, “Growth”, “Maturity & Saturation”, and “Decline”. Finally, label the x-axis “Time” and the y-axis “Sale”.
Use the black pen to go over the lines on the graph…
And then remove the pencil marks using an eraser.
Use a yellow pen to shade the “growth” section of the chart.
Use a darker shade of orange for the section to the right of this…
And then use a red pen for the “Decline” section.
Use a blue pen for the section to the left of the “Growth”…
And a navy blue pen for the first section of the chart.
The product cycle is an important part of our everyday lives, and understanding it helps us to understand our relationship with those items that we use each and every day.
