No matter the time of year, there is one thing that is guaranteed to put us all in a good mood – the sunshine! To help you stay cheerful no matter the weather outside, let’s learn to draw our very own sun in just a few short, simple steps.
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Grab a pencil and drawing compass…
And add a circle to the center of your page.
Add another circle just outside the one you have already drawn.
Then, add another circle just outside this one, forming a ring.
Add another, larger circle to the outside.
Then, add an outer ring outside these…
And make a series of small marks around the edge of the very outer circle.
Join these marks with small curved lines to form a jagged edge for your sun.
Now, add another set of small points inside the larger ones.
Add two curves to the inside of the sun for eyes, and then add another curve below for a smile.
Add small marks to the top of the eyes for brows, and then small circles on the cheeks.
Grab a black fineliner, and go over all the outlines on your sun.
Use an eraser to remove any pencil marks…
And touch up the lines as needed.
Now, use a bright yellow for the central section of the sun.
Use an orange pen for the next section, and the spots on the cheeks…
And then a dark orange pen for the outer section of the sun.
And there we have it – a happy, smiling sunshine that is guaranteed to cheer you up on a gray and gloomy day!
